SEA drives Earth Day celebration

Hosted by the Student Environmental Alliance (SEA), the April 16 campus Earth Day featured 32 vendors supporting environmental issues, including representatives from e-friendly scooter, electric and microcars. SEA president, Lydia Blackwood, noted that this year’s event had grown significantly from the 12 “green” vendors who participated in last year’s college Earth Day.

Pictured and seated in a Passion-model Smart car with a fixed panoramic roof, Elaina Scott, was surprised how much room it offered. It’s “very roomy” and “kind of cute,” Scott said. Her friend, Jennifer Hicks, also thought this two-seater car manufactured in France by Mercedes parent company, Daimler, was “roomy.” It “looks comfortable and has a cup holder,” remarked Hicks. Both heard about the college’s Earth Day events by a Google® search.
