Issue five corrections, clarification

In Issue 5 of The Campus Ledger, printed Oct. 23, 2008, “First word on Word switch” incorrectly attributed quotes from Charles Barnett to Jim Brown, manager, Office Computing Support. The Campus Ledger regrets this mistake and apologizes to both Mr. Brown and Mr. Barnett.

The Campus Ledger is also correcting the following error in Issue 5: In the pie graph (Special Section: Page 10), Barack Obama was incorrectly credited with receiving 119% of the student, staff and faculty votes. The correct statistic is that Barack Obama received 119 votes, which was 59.5% of the vote. We apologize for this error.

In the news brief “Halloween dance school spirit, creativity,” the headline should be “Halloween dance promotes school spirit, creativity.” The Campus Ledger regrets this error as well.

Additionally, the illustrations on pages 10 and 11 are not attributed. They were made by Vince Medellin.

The Campus Ledger strives to have a factually correct and informative newspaper with no grammar or style mistakes. Due to the problems listed above, we did not accomplish that with Issue 5, and we apologize.

Sincerely,

The Campus Ledger staff
