Due to an upcoming make-up double-header with Longview Community College, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m., the baseball team had a “controlled scrimmage” on Oct. 13 instead of the Cavalier World Series.
The guys were a little disappointed when rain forced them to take practice inside to the weight room. “We had a great afternoon scheduled…fortunately we are far enough along that this won’t effect us [negatively],” said Kent Shelley, head coach, baseball.
Coach Shelley will be the “Commissioner” for the Cavalier World Series allowing Eric Horner and David Canary, assistant coaches, baseball, to each draft players from the college’s roster and coach against each other.
The best of five series starts Monday, Oct. 20 at 2:15 pm.
