The Lady Cavs beat Neosho County for their fifth match in a row on Wednesday.
They beat Neosho 25-16, 25-17, 17-25, 25-12.
After two solid sets, they had a mental lapse in the third.
"They came out and pressured us more in the third set," said Sydney Pemberton, sophomore middle hitter. "We kind of thought we had the win so we were kind of going easy on them."
The coaches noticed the lack of effort during the third set as well.
"The girls just got a little complacent and let up a little bit," said Michelle Wear, assistant coach.
Lucky for the players, the coaches know how to finish the deal.
"She [Coach Ei] lit a fire under our butts," said Pemberton.
Wear said as long as they came out strong in the last game, that's all that really matters.
"I thought we puled it back together in the fourth game," said Wear. "They came out strong and took care of business."
