Eleven Cavaliers earn All-East Jayhawk accolades

Three First-teamers, Four Second-teamers and Four honorable mentions highlight baseball season

The season may be over for the Cavaliers baseball team, but the records keep falling.

Eleven members of the baseball team earned All-East Jayhawk Conference for the 2009 season, a school record.

Gage Daniels, freshman pitcher, John Lenherr, sophomore outfielder; and Davis Morgan, freshman designated hitter, earned First-Team honors, while Brian McColluch, sophomore first baseman, Brandon Droge, sophomore pitcher, and J.P. LaManyon, freshman shortstop, garnered Second-team selections.

Receiving honorable mentions were Sam Stucky, freshman catcher, Tanner Funk, freshman third baseman; Zach Smith, freshman pitcher/first baseman, and David Drahozal, sophomore second baseman.

The Cavaliers won 43 games this season, but lost in the Region VI Tournament in Wichita over the weekend.
