Coffeyville gets served

Red Ravens Ravaged by Lady Cavaliers

The Lady Cavs extended their record against Coffeyville Community College to 44-4.
They beat Coffeyville on Wednesday in straight sets 25-10, 25-15, 25-10 to improve their season record to 18-2 and they are 7-0 in the conference.
Torey Lyman, freshman outside hitter, said they had to be ready for Coffeyville’s gritty style.
“We knew they were going to come out scrappy,” she said.
Jenny Ei, head coach, was pleased with the team’s performance after a “performance bump” in their season. She had been worried the team has been playing down to their opponents.
“The girls have the ability to be a great team,” she said.
Ei said the Lady Cavs achieved their goals by playing great defense.
“We want to be a team that is really good defensively and also a team that doesn’t let up,” she said. “Every point has a purpose.”
